My friend and colleague Iason Athanasiadis has just been arrested by the Islamic Republic. He has shown himself over the years I’ve known him to be an honest reporter. Here are a few examples of his work who loves Iran, its culture, and its people. His reporting shows him to be no lackey of the West, or whatever he’s being accused of.

Please visit his website and ask yourself why a person like that is being held.

Iason is FREE!

An interview with Iason after his release.

So many good people are in jail or worse. So many missing already. Thanks for posting this Evan.
This is indeed very sad news. I knew Iason and have a very high opinion of him and his work. He is an objective yet passoinate observer and student of Iranian culture and society. He is a kind and intelligent soul who certainly, like most of the others arrested in this sordid coup, does not deserve to be arrested and jailed. I sincerely hope that he and others like him be freed by the time I finish this post.
