Mirhusein Mousavi, Mehdi Karoubi, Mohammad Khatami and Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, all have been part of the system in Iran, all still support the system and oppose the people running it.

Their conflict with the ruling faction in Iran is like the conflict between Mafia dons and Mafua families.

Law enforcers do not want to see one or the other faction in the Mafia in ascendance.

They want to see the Mafia annihilated.

Sane people and sane Shia want and work for the annihilation of the Welayat-e-Faqeeh system.

Khamenei, Ahmadainejad et al are just names and faces.

Replacing just names and faces in Iran will do no good.

The Welayat-e-Faqeeh system should be scrapped, and a secular, democratic, welfare state be ushered in.

[...] – The letter would seem to answer questions about a report by Fars news agency Sunday claiming that Karoubi had “recanted his claims of prison rape in a letter to Judiciary chief Sadeq Larijani.” Fars said that after conceding the fallacy of his claims Karoubi had asked Larijani not to seek further evidence. In fact, as the Fars report eventually makes clear, Karoubi has declared himself unsure only about the facts of the death of Saideh Pouraghayi after new contradictory evidence came to light. However, a series of posts on the Iran Rises blog try to make the case that the stories of both Pouraghayi and Taraneh Moussavi are in fact hoaxes. Iran Rises [...]
